BAYA Africa designs bespoke luxury travel itineraries across southern Africa. Small, founder-led, SATSA-accredited, working with affluent travellers who value curation over volume and would rather have one trip planned properly than five options planned generically.
The brief was the full brand-plus-website build – reposition BAYA around simplified, sophisticated itinerary design, and give the site the job of qualifying enquiries so the studio spends time on real trips, not on tyre-kickers.
Challenge
Luxury travel is a saturated category with a very particular buyer. The wrong website loses them in the first three seconds – too corporate, too generic, too many stock hero videos of the same elephants. What the buyer wants is a signal that this planner understands their trip, not everyone’s trip.
BAYA’s edge is the founder’s own network on the ground across the destinations. The site had to show that specificity – Botswana as an Okavango experience, Cape Town as a fine-dining and Winelands week, Namibia as a Sossusvlei-and-remote-lodge itinerary – without turning into a directory.
The work
We built the identity around calm sophistication – dark palette, whitespace, real photography of the actual destinations. Everything the site does is aimed at qualifying the enquiry so the follow-up conversation is already the third meeting, not the first.
Anchor line – Step into your dream African adventure with BAYA Africa. Puts the traveller’s imagination first.
Positioning statement – In a world saturated with choice and clutter, BAYA Africa designs simplified, sophisticated and personalised itineraries. Names the category problem and the answer in one line.
Destinations, done at country level – South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia. Each with its own page carrying real trip inspiration, seasonality guidance, and the founder’s take on where to stay and why.
Our Services – itinerary design, on-the-ground logistics, curated experiences. Written as service pillars, not as a menu.
Blog and newsletter – the studio’s editorial voice, so the buyer can read the founder’s thinking before booking a call. Search authority for long-tail luxury travel queries.
Contact + enquiry flow – qualifying form that captures destination, travel window, party size, and budget, so the first reply from the studio is already a proper conversation.
Built on WordPress – editable destinations, editable trip inspiration, editable blog. The studio adds new lodges, new experiences, and new itineraries without a developer round.
If your travel-design studio is competing with a generic directory site, that is not the deal. Talk to us about the site that gives the founder’s expertise room to breathe.
