Solidmesh is a Garden Route engineering firm doing two disciplines under one roof – alternative energy (solar, hybrid, grid-tied) and industrial automation (PLC, SCADA, motor control, VSD). Based in George, working across South Africa and Zimbabwe. Serious about the engineering, allergic to the buzzword-heavy tone that dominates the category.
The brief was the brand-plus-website build – position the firm properly, show both disciplines without splintering, and give the site the job of qualifying enquiries from commercial, industrial, agricultural, and infrastructure buyers.
Challenge
Energy and automation is a category that sells itself in specifier language – kilowatts, PLCs, SCADA integrations, VSDs. Fine for the engineer already writing the tender. Wrong for the operations director or farm owner deciding whether to trust this firm with a R2m plant upgrade.
The site had to hold two audiences at once – the buyer trying to understand what the outcome is worth, and the specifier confirming that Solidmesh can actually deliver the spec. And it had to make a two-discipline business feel like one considered firm, not a service list.
The work
We built the identity around a clear promise – Powering efficiency. Enabling resilience. – with a supporting positioning line that names the philosophy: purpose-built, not over-engineered. That is the ethos of the firm and now the ethos of the site.
Anchor line – Integrated Solutions for a more efficient and sustainable future. Sets the ambition without slipping into generic ESG language.
Two disciplines, one identity – Alternative Energy and Industrial Automation each with their own service architecture, but drawn from the same brand system so the buyer never doubts they are looking at the same firm.
- Alternative Energy – solar, hybrid, and grid-tied configurations. Energy audits, system design, and turnkey installation.
- Industrial Automation – PLC programming, SCADA integration, motor control, VSD integration. Telemetry and remote monitoring. Legacy system upgrades.
Projects, twice – Energy Projects and Automation Projects each with their own case archive. Real installations, real specs, real credit to the firm. Rebuilds the trust the buyer is looking for.
About, done properly – the firm’s story, its ethos (Colossians 3:23 embedded quietly in the identity), the Morse-code reference behind the mark (dits and dashes – the binary language the automation stack speaks). Not decoration. Actual identity work made visible on the page.
Regional presence – George in the Western Cape, work across the Eastern Cape, and a Zimbabwean presence in Harare. Named on the site so the international enquiries land on the right person.
Built on WordPress – so the team can add new projects, publish energy audits, and extend the automation portfolio without a developer round.
If your firm does two disciplines properly and the site shows one, that is not the deal. Talk to us about the site that carries both.
